C.I. Nottara Theatre
C.I. Nottara Theatre, the Promoter of the #REINVENT Project, located on Magheru Boulevard (one of the most important commercial arteries in Bucharest), was founded in 1947, as the Army Theater, and was later given the name of the great Romanian actor Constantin I. Nottara.
Thanks to its valuable team, the “C.I. Nottara” Theatre managed to attract a loyal audience, placing it on the second place in the preferences of the spectators and constituting a national brand. Without denying for a moment its popular character, Nottara managed to maintain in its offer to the public, among the over 400 titles in Romanian and universal drama in its 74 years of existence, a beneficial balance between entertainment and philosophical themes, between liberating laughter and the gravity of existential problems.
Over the years, C.I. Nottara Theatre has won numerous national and international awards, representing the Romanian art at major festivals around the world.
Since 2013 (with a two-year break due to the pandemic) Nottara has been organizing the Festin on the Boulevard International Theater. The 7 editions of the event were successful, increasing the reputation of the institution.
The C.I. Nottara is a public cultural institution under the authority of the General Council and the General City Hall of Bucharest, operating with an artistic, technical and administrative team of 151 employees (including 40 actors, 2 stage directors and a set designer). For every theatre season, the repertoire includes around 30 titles, performed at The Horia Lovinescu Hall (320 seats) and The George Constantin Hall (with a mobile setting ranging between 80 and 120 seats).
